Project Area

The project limits for this project extends from 0.5 km west of Maitland Avenue to 0.2 km east of Island Park Drive, in the City of Ottawa. A map shown below illustrates the project limits.

The land use within the project area primarily consist of commercial / industrial land such as shopping centres, business parks, hotels, work yards, etc. Land use located along the freeway corridor also consists of residential and institutional (schools, churches) buildings, and recreational (open space park land) area.

The staging area for the Island Park Drive bridges is consistent with the area outlined in the Preliminary Design Study. The enclosed construction staging area for the Island Park Drive bridges is located in the grassed area of the Park, by Island Park Drive and Highway 417.

The staging area for the Clyde Avenue bridges is the City of Ottawa Maintenance Yard on Clyde Avenue.

The staging area for the Carling eastbound bridge is proposed between Carling Avenue eastbound and Carling Avenue westbound on the north side of Highway 417.


Contract No. 4
The staging area for the Carling Avenue westbound bridge replacements is proposed between Carling Avenue eastbound and Carling Avenue westbound, south of Highway 417. The staging area for the Kirkwood Avenue bridge replacements is proposed between Carling Avenue westbound and the Highway 417, north of Highway 417.
